2023 Hirsch 'Bohan-Dillon' Pinot Noir

David Hirsch was inspired to create the Bohan-Dillon Pinot Noir as an homage to the great village wines of France: a wine full of place and personality, made with the same care and attention as the top wines, yet at a good price. The Hirsch Vineyards Bohan-Dillon Pinot Noir is produced using the same winemaking methods and with the same attention to detail as our other Pinots, thereby ensuring a wine of great quality, traditional varietal character, and sense of place.
The 2023 Bohan-Dillon Pinot Noir is a blend of three West Sonoma Coast sites: the Hirsch and Hellenthal vineyards, situated contiguous to each other, and the Heintz vineyard, located about 20 miles south of Hirsch. This is the third vintage of Bohan-Dillon to include fruit from the Heintz vineyard. We selected Heintz due to its storied reputation and our faith in Charlie Heintz, a third generation farmer.
All three of these family-owned vineyards produce wines of character, integrity and complexity.
TASTING & SERVICE NOTES:
The 2023 Bohan-Dillon is an expressive and elegant vintage of this wine. The nose is a gorgeous bouquet of raspberries, cherries, and plums, with subtle hints of graphite and cassis. On the palate the wine is juicy and drinkable, with gentle tannins. With air, notes of rhubarb, sumac and forest floor emerge. This is a wine of fantastic personality and character. It can be enjoyed young with a wide variety of foods, and can also be served chilled for those warm summer days when you still crave red wine.
We recommend opening this wine one hour before drinking.
