2010 Pinot Noir
The 2010 Example Pinot Noir is a liquid snapshot of the vintage, offering Ranier cherries, strawberry rhubarb and cranberry with notes of pink peppercorn, summer savory and clove. On the palate, macerated cherries, red plum and anise unfold with a silken texture.
At the winery, the grapes were destemmed and put into temperature-controlled tanks for a 3-day cold soak to gently begin extracting color and tannin from the skins. After an 18-day fermentation, the grapes were pressed and the wine was moved into French oak barrels for 14 months. We bottled 291 cases unfined and unfiltered.
