The Bohan Dillon Pinot Noir is an affordable world-class wine that brings to your glass the full spectrum of the Hirsch Vineyards site and shows the traditional character of pinot noir. The Bohan Dillon is produced using the exact same winemaking methods and with the same attention to detail as our other pinots, thereby ensuring a purity of fruit and site expression. The 2009 vintage is made primarily from the fruit of our younger vines, with an addition of fruit from our neighbors Hellenthal and MacDougal, located a stones throw from Hirsch on the extreme Sonoma Coast. This is a wine to be enjoyed for all its precocious charm and as a celebration of life.
8/31 - 9/18/2009
14 months in French oak
Bright, charming notes of red plum, white flowers and black cherries on the nose. Evolving with air to cherry cola, cinnamon and mulling spices, wet stone and red roses. Precociously charming and pretty upon opening, evolving into sophisticated notes of clay earth, bergamot and minerality with air. On the palate, cherries, leather, pomegranate juice and cranberries. A sparkling line of acidity delineates the wine, and soft tannins impart a luxurious mouthfeel.
